How long have you been in business here and why Lewes?
The BHF store in Lewes has been trading here for 30 years.
Have you found that there's anything that people have asked for more now after lockdown has been lifted?
We have noticed that since Lockdown has been lifted that lots of our regular customers are in and looking regularly for puzzles & wool etc. We can only guess that these kept people busy during the lockdown period and that due to possible isolations or further lockdowns being put in place that they are preparing to fill their time with more puzzle making or home knitting/crochets.
What's been your favourite single moment/interaction while trading during lockdown or after having re-opened?
Since reopening after lockdown was lifted it has been it has been amazing for us as a team to come back together and reconnect with our wonderful team of volunteers doing what we do best in raising money for the charity we are passionately devoted too.
If you had the chance, which past Lewes High Street shop would you most like to re-introduce and why?
After speaking to much of the team they have said how they would love the Iceland frozen food chain to have remained in Lewes.
Of all the events and meetings that happen on the High Street which are you most looking forward to experiencing again when social restrictions are eased?
Out of all the events which take place in Lewes we are most looking forward to Bonfire celebrations returning, hopefully next year. With this year’s cancelled due to Covid-19, we miss out on selling all the bonfire clothing stock that we spend all year saving and storing. Being such a huge event we usually… trade exceptionally well on that day due to all the 1000's of people heading into Lewes.
