The telephone – an instrument for the future?
Although the New Telephone Company had an agent in Lewes in 1888, take up must have been slow. Established in 1904, Martins garage had number 45. Telephone number 1 was held by Chatfield and Son, timber merchants. Number 2 – J. Every, ironfounder. Harvey and Son 26, and Edward Reeves 74.

36 years on Cliffe High Street. Because it is Alistair’s home.
What's been your favourite single moment/interaction while trading during lockdown or after having re-opened?
Cherishing genuine human interaction. Having some very cutting-edge designs be made into reality.
